BELIEVER IN CHRIST AS MY BEST FRIEND

  10  And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again. 2  And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him. 3  And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? 4  And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. 5  And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6  But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7  For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8  And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9  What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 10  And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter. 11  And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry anot

  9  And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. 2  And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. 3  And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. 4  And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus. 5  And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 6  For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid. 7  And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. 8  And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.

  26  And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town. 27  And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am? 28  And they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. 29  And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ. 30  And he charged them that they should tell no man of him. 31  And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32  And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. 33  But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things

  8  In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them, 2  I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat: 3  And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far. 4  And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness? 5  And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven. 6  And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people. 7  And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them. 8  So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets. 9  And they that had eaten were about four thousand: an

  22  But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. 23  And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, 24  He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. 25  But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. 26  And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land. 27  And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us. 28  And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29  Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 30  And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it. 3

12  But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13  But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. 14  Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? 15  And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. 16  No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17  Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. 18  While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a cer

  9  And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. 2  And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. 3  And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. 4  And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? 5  For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? 6  But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. 7  And he arose, and departed to his house. 8  But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. 9  And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me.
