ONE GOD WHO IS GOD ALONE NOT AN IDOL ISAIAH 44

1But now listen, O Jacob My servant,

Israel, whom I have chosen.

2This is the word of the LORD, your Maker,

who formed you from the womb and who will help you:

“Do not be afraid, O Jacob My servant,

Jeshurun,a whom I have chosen.

3For I will pour water on the thirsty land,

and currents on the dry ground.

I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants,

and My blessing on your offspring.

4They will sprout among the grass

like willowsb by flowing streams.

5One will say, ‘I belong to the LORD,’

another will call himself by the name of Jacob,

and still another will write on his hand, ‘The LORD’s,’

and will take the name of Israel.”

6Thus says the LORD,

the King and Redeemer of Israel, the LORD of Hosts:

“I am the first and I am the last,

and there is no God but Me.

7Who then is like Me?

Let him say so!

Let him declare his case before Me,

since I established an ancient people.

Let him foretell the things to come,

and what is to take place.

8Do not tremble or fear.

Have I not told you and declared it long ago?

You are My witnesses!

Is there any God but Me?

There is no other Rock;

I know not one.”

9All makers of idols are nothing,

and the things they treasure are worthless.

Their witnesses fail to see or comprehend,

so they are put to shame.

10Who fashions a god or casts an idol

which profits him nothing?

11Behold, all his companions will be put to shame,

for the craftsmen themselves are only human.

Let them all assemble and take their stand;

they will all be brought to terror and shame.

GREAT DAY IN THE MORNING BLESSINGS OF ABRAHAM!

GREAT DAY IN THE MORNING BLESSING! Galatians 3:14-29

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

THE LORD HAD A COVENANT WITH RUTH

“But Ruth said, ‘Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.'” – Ruth 1:16

Ruth, the main character of the book of Ruth, demonstrates extreme devotion and trustworthiness to her mother-in-law Naomi despite adversity.

Her husband and sons had died, leaving her with no one to rely on for financial support. In response to this situation, Naomi asked her daughters-in-law to go back home with their families; however, Ruth refused and said, “Where you go,; I will go, where you stay I will stay. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God” (Ruth 1:16).

This incredible display of fidelity pushed Ruth into leaving behind everything she was used to in order to just help take care of Naomi again in Bethlehem. Over there, she worked day after day harvesting from others’ fields in order to financially support them both.
